About Mafalda Cento

Mafalda Cento Mafalda Cento was born in Rome, Italy. She lives in Staten Island and has been painting most of her adult life. With limited training, she works in watercolors, oils, acrylics and mixed media. Her strokes are loose and fluid, thus creating works that are organic and expressive.

"I paint very loosely and free. Subjects do not define my work but rather express my total artistic involvement with my creations. Painting has enabled me to go beneath the surface of my being; releasing my inner conscious and void of all aspect of traditional training, rules and regulations. I'm fueled by the passion I have of the creative and magical process of painting, which at times takes me to wonderful destinations."

She has exhibited in numerous art shows in Manhattan, Staten Island, Brooklyn, upstate New York and New Jersey. Many of works are in private collections in the US, Italy, England, France and the Bahamas
